A learning path is a guided programme: an ordered set of courses that takes a learner from where they are to where they need to be, without them having to figure out the order themselves.
What a path gives you
- Prerequisites — a course in the path stays locked until the learner completes what comes before it, so nobody skips the safety induction before the machinery course.
- Adaptive progression — learners who can already demonstrate a skill can move faster along the path instead of sitting through content they've mastered.
- Drip scheduling — release lessons on fixed dates, or relative to each learner's enrolment date, so later joiners automatically get their own schedule rather than arriving mid-stream.

Adaptive progression speeds learners past content whose skills they've demonstrated in the platform; it doesn't infer outside learning. Path structure is managed by admins and programme owners — learners can't build their own paths.
